Wow crazy awesome year

Wow what a year its been. sorry was going to try to post more but that didnt happen so here goes what happen open the year. Everyone had a great scs season. We had Kolbi, Michael, and Jack advance to divisionals. Kolbi was in sport and speed. Michael and Jack adavanced for speed. They all did very well job. Kolbi advanced in both to nationals. Jack had a personal best but was not good enough to advance to nationals. But still did a awesome job. Michael adavance to nationals for speed. After divisonals we only had 2 weeks to get ready for nationals. Which is not a good thing and not normal. So we had to get right on it as soon as we got back from divisionals. So we arrived at nationals. The first day when we walked in the gym was like wow. Seeing videos and pictures of the Stone Summit in Atlanta does not do that gym justice. It was a crazy awesome fun gym. Kolbi finished off 34th at nationals. The stress just got to her she will be back next year and know how it is. And crush it like she always does. Michael Finished 19th In speed. Which was awesome. For everyones first year going to Nationals it was a great week. After that the team started to head to tons of outdoor areas near us and crush it. Kolbi and Michael headed off to New Hampshire for a camp that got a scholarship to for 2 weeks of some awesome outdoor climbing and training. In August went start training getting ready for our abs bouldering season. Which everyone been crushing we done two comps that has qualified everyone for Abs regionals up in Minnesota. At the local comps we placed 5th or higher. So everyone is crushing lately which is awesome. Kolbi got a full ride sponsorship with 5.10 climbing. Which is a shoe company that she loves. Next week we our having our fun competiton at the Ymca. Everone is help setting and competing in the competition. They cant set for there division. Everyone is excited to set and compete. Its looking like we are going to have alot more climbers in the competition this year. Which everyone is excited for. So if want to come out and watch our team climb or compete. team crushing

The team has been doing awsome climbing at climbing competition the last couple weeks. First weekend we were competing at vertical endeavors in warrenville, IL. Everyone was there and having fun, crushing, and racking up points. Kolbi competed in the open division. Which is the top division. She was one of the youngest competitiors in her group. Some of hte moves were prety stretch out for her. For being her height she couldnt finish some of the routes. After pushing herself to her limits she ended up finishing in 6th Place which is awsome for her first competition in that division. Jack Lackey competed in the intermediate divison. He was able to crush it and get tons of points. Most of his routes were very technical and fun to watch him climb them and figure out the moves. He ended up in 7th Place. Jessica also competited in the intermediate divison. This was her second climbing competition. She did the same routes as Jack. She was a little nervous at the beginning. But after getting some points on the board she was able to relax. Was also a very good learning experience for her. She figured out that climbing slower is the best thing to do cause you can figure out when you do get stuck on a route. Jordan and Michael A. were in the advance division. The routes for them were very stretch and technical. They had a lot of fun and were able to do most routes. A lot of the the holds were crimpy type holds. Making it harder to grab onto them. But even so they had a lot of fun and push themselves to there limits. Michael was also very sick that day and still competed and kick some but. Jordan finished up in 10th Place and Michael in 22nd. Everyone did awsome and had a lot of fun.
The following weekend some of the team went down to Upper LImits West County climbing gym in St. Louis, MO. to compete in the first SCS climbing competition of the year. Its a gerat gym and the route setters always do a great job setting. We had to leave friday so that the team would be well rested cause of the 6 hour drive to get there. The gym is very huge and the walls are taller than the gyms in our area. The walls are 60 foot tall. Which makes endurance  and resting on routes very important. Kolbi, Jack, and Michael A. were the the members that went down to compete and crush it. We were the farthest the team to travel there. There were 4 other teams there. Most them were from the area. Our coaches and athletes kept getting asked were we are from. It was pretty cool be the outsiders there. The routes wre very techinical and endurance. There were very cool movements and routes for everyone. There were routes from 5.4-5.13 which made it great competition for everyone there. They had routes for lead climbing and top rope. Our climbing team did a great job, climbed smart, and climbed strong. The results for the team were Kolbi took 2nd Place, Jack took 3rd place, and Michael took 3rd Place. The team crushed it this weekend. The team is hard work getting ready for our next compettion which will be on April 6th down in Homewood, IL at Climb ON climbing gym. Everyone is getting excited and cant wait to crush it. Photos and videos are up to so check them out. If have any questions feel free to contact us. Keep crushing and will keep everyone up to date with how the team is doing.

Crazy awsome climbers

Been long time since we posted about how the team has done. We had a great showing and ABS regional championships. They all tried there best and crushed hard. The routes were very interesting, lots of fun, and very technical climbing. They had four routes to try to qualify for finals. At finals they had 3 routes to do in finals. Kolbi and Jack made finals. Which were very hard and lots of fun to climb. They were both very excited and tired after climbing them. This was a very long hard day for everyone. Here were the results for the team. Jack Lackey took 8th place, Lexi McIntyre tok 20th, Kolbi Lackey took 11th, and Jordan Korth took 17th Place. The team did a great job for this being our first bouldering season. Especially for some this was there first Big Climbing Competition.

After regional championships went got right back into training for SCS season. Which rope season. Which everyone has done and we do a lot better in. Our facility does not have a specific bouldering areas so we can train for that. We started training really hard for endurance and becomming stronger climbers, both physically and mentally. Climbing is very mentally. The stronger you are there the stronger climber you can be easily. We also got some new members to our team. Some of them will be competing in the USA Climbing series others wont be. But still all in all they are part of the team and becomming better climbers. The new team members are Jessica Piet, Michael Schenning, and Michael Althoff.

At the end of January we went up to Adventure Rock for there annaul climbing competition. Which is one of the best competitions in the midwest area. The team was training really hard before this. Which help everyone out a lot. Wednesday before the competition. We had our last hard climbing day before the competition. We were praticing how to read routes, technical moves, and how to problem solve while on the wall. Kolbi while climbing that day cut her index finger bad. Which we had to stop her from climbing the rest of the day. Which made it hard for her to climb because she could not pull on hard on holds. The day of the competition everyone was excited and very nervous. The routes were a lot of fun to watch everyone climb. Very technical and fun movements on the routes. All in all the team had a great day climbing. Some of them this was there very first climbing competition. Which they didnt know what to expect. Kolbi it was a hard day cause she could really not use that finger which made it really hard. Here are The results for the team Jessica took 11th Place, Lexi took took 19th, Jack took 19th, Micheal A. took 12th, and Kolbi took 15th Place. The team had a very great showing and had a lot of fun.

Right now we are getting for a climbing competition in Warrenville, Illionis at Vertical Endevors which will be on March 3. Everyone is competing and the coaches too. We will have members competiting in every division which is pretty cool. We are going down there this weekend to have everyone see and climb at the gym. Its a very fun gym and pretty cool routes they set there. They have gym wall and fake outdoor rock style. Which make it lots of fun and interesting routes to climb. Everyone cant wait to go there this weekend to climb there and compete next weekend. On March 9th we are going to be heading down to St. Louis,MO to Upper Limits West county climbin gym. For our very first SCS competition of the year. The Team cant wait and very excited its lots of fun climbing there and interesting walls there. Most everyone has climbed there before. We will keep you guys posted about how the Team does at every competition and training throughout the year. If have questions please feel free in contacting us. Plus lots of videos and photos are up so check them out.

bouldering competition in madison

this weekend was very busy for the team. we had our second bouldering comp of the season. it was a lot of fun watching these guys/gals climb. The routes were very techincal and hard routes. There was a lot of planning and thinking on how to do the routes. You couldnt just start the climb and think you were going to be able to get to the finish. There were about 120 climbers divided up throughout the divisions. The divisions were by division and male or female. The team had 4 hours of climbing to get the most possible points they could. Every route were worth points. Ranging from 50-900 points. There top 5 routes were added up for there score. You had to finish/ make it to the top to get counted. If they did not make it you didnt get any points. Which made it harder for everyone cause you had to pick routes that you knew that you could finish. There were over 70+ routes that you could do. Which made it a lot of fun and tons of routes that you could chose to do. The easier the route the less points they were. The harder the route the more points. The routes had a lot of technical and fun movements in them. The team did very well at the comp. Kolbi took 8th, lexi took 12th, Jordan took 7th, and Jack took 5th.

The following day we went up to another climbing gym Adventure Rock. Were the team did alot of bouldering, tope rope, and older guys did some lead climbing. Everyone was pretty tired from the day before but still had a great day of training and still had a lot of fun at the same time. They climbed over 5 hours. First half the day they did a lot of bouldering pushing themselves to there limits. After we took a break for lunch and give the body a little break. We harnessed back up went into lead and rope climbing. Jordan first had to get lead certified which was not a big deal cause of we climb alot of lead at our home gym at the YMCA. After he got tested out did alot of lead and tope rope nothing less than a 5.10. Couple of the routes had some very cool movements that they tried out with some mantling, heel hooks, and very technical routes. Which made it a very good training and fun to watch these guys figure it out. By the end of the day they could barely do easy routes that could easily do cause they were exhausted and tired of climbing the last two days.

We are having a climb-a-thon on November 10. At our local gym to help raise money for the team. All the money goes into the team to help pay for competition fees, travel, hotels, etc. If want to give a donation to the team for the climb-a-thon or just a donation feel free in contacting us. Well till next time climb stron and climb smart!!!!!

new year new team

Been a long time since we updated our website. Well here goes. We have a bigger and stronger team. We have for four very dedicated athletes who are on the team this year. We are doing both ABS (American bouldering series) and SCS (sport climbing series). Right now we are competing in abs series. The team has climbing and training strong. On October 6th we had our first ABS competition. It was new to everyone. Everyone has competed in sport climbing comps before so this was new to them. Everyone was a little nervous about this new endevor. But they beasted it. All our competitors mad top 10 in there division. They only compete against climbers there age and sex. Which is very nice cause not having to go against climbers who are older then them. Since the comp they been training hard and pushing themselves with help from there coaches to get them stronger, smarter, and more all around climbers.  This saturday October 20th. They will be competing in Madison, WI to compete in there next ABS competition. They all are excited and ready to do there best and kick some butt. Well to next time just keep crushing it and climber smarter!!!!
